Langhe and Monferrato: Wine, truffles and sparkles

Day 1: CANELLI
Departure from the designed location. Arrival in the Asti area for lunch with local dishes.
In the afternoon, continuation to the nearby Canelli, homeland of sparkling wine. Visit of the prestigious, solemn and unique underground cellars, declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Miles and miles of galleries and rooms spreading through the tuff hill on which the town sits – true masterpieces of engineering and architecture keeping the wines at a constant temperature of 12-14 °C. Tasting of said wine. Afterwards, passing through the hills of “Barbaresco”, arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: ITINERARIO NELLE LANGHE – TERRA DI CASTELLI E DI OTTIMI  VINI
Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with the guide.
Departure for a scenic route with views of rolling hills dotted with castels, ancient villages and prestigious vineyards. Stop in Barolo, known for its namesake wine, and in La Morra, “the panoramic balcony”, to admire all the colors of the Langhe hills.
Stop in a winery to taste local wines such as Dolcetto, Barolo, Barbaresco. Lunch at the agriturismo. Visit of the Cavour Castle, a majestic manor dating back to the 13th century, once home to count and statesman Camillo Benso, who lived there for a long time and used it as a center of production of fine wines. Today, the castle houses the regional enoteca of Piedmont. Dinner  and overnight stay.

 Day 3: ALBA
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with the guide. Brief stop in Pollenzo, showing the warm and pinkish colour of its terracotta buildings. It is one of the best examples of Gothic revival architecture in Italy and houses the renowned University of Gastronomic Sciences, founded by Slow Food.
Continuation to Alba for a guided tour of the capital of the Langhe, known as “city of a hundred towers”.  Nestled among the rolling hills, the city features a medieval historical center filled with towers, fortified houses, and ,many monuments. Short transfer near Alba for lunch at a restuarant

END OF OUR SERVICES

The package includes (minimum 25 participants)

– 2 nights in a good 3*hotel  in the Langhe region, including breakfast and dinner  (starter, main course with side, fruit or dessert – ¼ of wine and ½ of water)

-Licensed guide for the following visits: FD in the Langhe, HD in Alba
